Past simple: I went to Jakarta last year. We organized Semesta Day in 2022. We didn't have English lesson yesterday.

look at the bold words, there are the reason why these sentence are in present perfect or past simple. think about the previous slide?

we use last year, in 2022 ( in year), and yesterday as signs of past perfect becuase they talked about completed action in the past.

we use since and for as signs of present perfect because. Since and for talked about action starting in the past and continues, not completete
