  • History is the period for which written records are available.

  • History covers the time period after the invention of writing .

  • Early writing was done on clay tables, copper plates, and rock pillar.

Four Main Periods of Human History

  • Scientists have divided early human history into four main periods. They named these periods based on the materials people used to make tools and other items.

  • Stone Age.

  • Chalcolithic Age.

  • Bronze Age.

  • Iron Age.

The Stone Age

  • The Stone Age is a long period in history when early humans created and used stone tools. During this time, people lived as hunters and gatherers, which means they hunted animals and gathered plants for food. They made tools from stones to help them catch animals and prepare their meals.

  • As time went on, humans learned how to farm and raise animals. This change allowed them to settle in one place, build homes, and form communities.
