Either? Neither? (ei / ei)

When “either” and “neither” are used as subjects, singular verbs are required. When they are used as correlative conjunctions, the subject closer to the verb determines whether the singular or plural form of the verb should be used.

Examples:

Subject: Neither of the two boys has thought about any resolutions.

Correlative conjunction à Neither Jaden nor his friends need to lose weight.

Words and phrases like “including” and “as well as” do not join the nouns or pronouns they introduce to the subjects, so they do not affect the forms of verbs used.
