Expectations

Show respect for school policies, your classmates, and

yourself.

Once the door closes, you are late. If you think you will be

late, get a pass from your teacher.

Sign-in on the clipboard when you are late to class.

If you need to use the bathroom and you might be

late, come to class 1st and you will go after the first 10
min of class. Otherwise, get a pass from your teacher.

No student will be allowed out of class the first 10 minutes

after the bell rings and the last 10 minutes before the bell
rings.

Bellwork will be on the board when you walk into class

with a timer.

Bellwork is to be completed before the timer is up.

Classroom Expectations

Sign-out and sign-in on the clipboard when you leave the classroom

You will receive restroom/water passes after the 2nd week of school.

Students will be provided with 5 restroom/water passes each quarter.
Students may use more than 5 passes unless a parent has spoken to
Mr.Thorpe for special accommodations.

- All unused passes will count as extra credit.

Only one person out the room at a time.

Classroom Expectations

Ask Mr.Thorpe before getting up to sharpen a pencil or move around

in the classroom

If someone from your class period knocks on the door, open the door.

If someone not from the class period knocks on the door, alert Mr.T

If the classroom phone rings, allow Mr. T or his teacher’s assistant to

answer the phone.

Stay seated until the bell rings.

Classroom Expectations

All assignments will be submitted on canvas. If you do

not have a phone to submit your work, talk to
Mr.Thorpe and make arrangements before the
assignment due date.

Bring all your materials to class daily.

This includes notebook, pens/pencils, scientific

calculator, etc.

If you are absent, check canvas for the material for the

day you missed.

Check the bin for your missing work before class or

after class.

Late work will be accepted and can be turned in up to

a week after the assignment is due. After an
assignment submission window has closed, a student
must attend tutoring to complete the assignment.

If you are absent on the day of a test, you will have a

written test to take during tutoring.

Classroom Expectations

Eat before or after class; not during class. The classroom functions as a

lab and trace chemicals can lead to sickness and irritation.

Mr. Thorpe will let you know when it is an appropriate time to be on

your phone. Otherwise, keep phones off and out of sight.

When you work is finished, submit it on canvas before you leave.

No empty desk!! Work on something else when you are done.

Raise your hand to speak out.

Show respect to others. The room should be quiet when someone has the floor to

talk.

Classroom Expectations

Keep your interactive Notebook Pages and Table of Contents are up-to-date.

There will be random notebook checks for a grade.

Mr.Thorpe will have a notebook template and there will be a table of contents on canvas.

If you need supplies, ask your peers prior to asking Mr.Thorpe.

Groups will change regularly. Let Mr.Thorpe know if there are any you may

accommodations need so that you can be in the best work environment.

Listen to the music!! If you cannot hear the music, the class is TOO LOUD.

Group work is great!! Doing nothing and copying all the answer is cheating.

If caught cheating, all involved will receive a 0% grade and a call home on

the first offence. Any further offences will result in a referral.

Extra Credit

Take a picture of yourself attending an after school event
must include your face and the event in the background

Max 2 events per week will receive credit

Complete Extra Credit assignments provided on canvas

Extra credit participation grade. Will decrease based on

students behavior/participation.
