Rules of adjectives

2.       After verbs - feel, taste, smell, sound, look, appear and seem - adjectives are used, NOT adverbs!!!
Example: She seems unhappy today.

1.       An adjective always follows the verb "to be" when describing a noun or pronoun that comes before that verb.
Example: She was happy.

4

Rules of adverbs

We form adverbs by adding -ly to the end of the adjective.
Example: Polite - politely

Formation of adverbs by means of suffixes:

-le -> -ly           gentle - gently

-y -> -ily           easy - easily

-ic -> -ically     automatic - automatically

-ue -> -uly       true - truly

-ll -> -lly           full - fully
