Microsoft Excel is a computer program that helps
people organize and manipulate data, such as numbers
and text, using rows and columns. It's like a big table
where you can put in different types of information
and then do different things with it.

For example, you could use Excel to make a chart or graph to show
how many apples, oranges, and bananas you sold at a fruit stand.
You could also use it to do math problems, like adding up how much
money you made from selling those fruits. In short, Excel is a tool that
helps you keep track of information and make calculations in an
organized and efficient way.

Workbook: Also called a spreadsheet, the workbook is a unique file
created by Excel

Title bar: The title bar displays both the name of the application
and the name of the spreadsheet.

Menu bar: The menu bar displays all of the menus available for use in
Excel . The contents of any menu can be displayed by left-clicking the
menu name.

Name box: This shows the address of the current selection or active
cell.

Formula bar: The formula bar displays information entered—or being
entered as you type—in the current or active cell. The contents of a cell
can also be edited in the formula bar.
