The life of Alexander Miles Business Man and Inventor

Part 1:Alexander miles was born in pick away county,Ohio,in 1838, the son of Michael and Mary miles. Miles grow up in Ohio, but moved to Waukesha Wisconsin, where he made a living as a barber,then he moved Winona, Minnesota where he met and married Mrs. Candace J. Dunlap. It is believed that Alexander git the idea for his elevator door mechanism after his daughter accidentally fell down a shaft and almost took her life.

Part 2:Alexander miles did not attend High school or college he was born May 18, 1838 when African american one room schools.

Part 3: Alexander career was looking like a good career because he had invented a elevator, that was good for transportation from building so you don't have to walk up hundreds of stairs.

Alexander became the first Black member of the Duluth chamber of commerce and operated a barber shop out of the St Louis hotel.
