to talk about a statement of fact

We use to be going to
to make a prediction based on the evidence in the present
Look at those clouds. It's going to rain.
to talk about intentions
Jack is going to apply for the position of CEO.

We use the future continuous
to talk about a temporary action in progress at a particular point in the future
This time next week we will be attending the conference on Cyber Security.
to talk about events that are a result or part of an arrangement made in the past
Will you be staying with Jack while you are in New York?
to make polite inquiries
Will you be watching TV in the evening?
