​Adjectives: Superlative
(ο υπερθετικός βαθμός των επιθέτων)

​Όταν θέλω να συγκρίνω ένα ουσιαστικό με ΟΛΑ τα άλλα της κατηγορίας του, χρησιμοποιώ τον υπερθετικό βαθμό των επιθέτων. Αυτόν τον σχηματίζω συνήθως με το the και την κατάληξη -est στο τέλος του επιθέτου. Πχ, soft-softer-the softest.
Ωστόσο, υπάρχουν και εδώ ξεχωριστές περιπτώσεις όπως και στον συγκριτικό βαθμό.
🌟Αν ένα επίθετο λήγει σε -e, τότε βάζω μόνο -st (nice-nicer-the nicest)
🌟Αν ένα επίθετο λήγει σε σύμφ-φωνήεν-σύμφωνο, τότε διπλασιάζω το τελευταίο σύμφωνο και μετά βάζω -est. (big-bigger-the biggest)
🌟Αν ένα επίθετο λήγει σε σύμφωνο+y, τότε διώχνω το y και βάζω -iest
(ugly-uglier-the ugliest)

​Και πάλι, για τα πολυσύλλαβα επίθετα, καθώς και για τα επίθετα που λήγουν σε -ing, -ed, -ous, -al, -ar, -ful, -less, ΔΕΝ βάζω κατάληξη, αλλά χρησιμοποιώ το the most πριν το επίθετο για να φτιάξω τη σύγκριση. Πχ:

🍀famous- more famous - the most famous
(διάσημος - διασημότερος - ο διασημότερος από όλους)
🍀beautiful-more beautiful- the most beautiful
(όμορφος - ομορφότερος - ο ομορφότερος από όλους)
🍀exciting-more exciting - the most exciting

​Ξεχωριστές περιπτώσεις

Τα επίθετα που είδαμε ότι κάνουν συγκριτικό βαθμό με δικό τους τρόπο, κάνουν παρομοίως και στον υπερθετικό. Έτσι έχουμε:
🍉good-better - the best
🍉bad-worse - the worst

​Πολύ ξεχωριστές περιπτώσεις!

​Μετά τον υπερθετικό βαθμό του επιθέτου, μπορώ να βάλω και το of / in, για να δείξω μέσα σε ποιο σύνολο πραγμάτων / ανθρώπων κλπ γίνεται αυτή η σύγκριση.
Παρατήρησε τα παραδείγματα:

Chryssa is the tallest girl of the class.
Sophie is the oldest child in the class.
Yannis is the most relaxed boy of the school.
