Teacher Instructions
1.PREPARE - Review Slides prior to instruction, See “Speaker Notes” at the bottom of
each slide for specific teacher directions and/or questioning.
2.Print black and white copies of SAVVAS Topic 12: Interactive Math
Story. You will need one per each student. Students will need crayons.
3.Use Teacher Edition pgs. 565I-565J : You will use the prompts on the
page to take a picture walk, activate prior knowledge, read, gesture,
color, write, speak. The prompts explain exactly what you need to say
and do as you go through the story. This activity should be guided and
modeled by the teacher, while allowing students to interact with the
concepts.
4.Print copies of math Center Gameson slide 5. Print 1 set per student
pair. Students will need number tiles 1-4 in a bag, and a pencil or popsicle
stick.
5.Print one exit ticketper student.
6.Go over the Aggressive Monitoring process and be ready to implement
during the exit ticket.
