     Chiba Okereke was my best friend. I remember the day he moved into my neighborhood. He was a quiet boy with eyes that always told a story. I could not help but talk to him. Thus, Chiba and I walked to school every day, took the same classes, and always stayed together.      One morning, Chiba did not show up at the front door of my house when it was time to go to school. Although it was unusual for Chiba to not be there, I thought he might have been sick. That day, I went to school alone. When he did not show up for school, I went to his apartment to check on him.
