​How did Hatshepsut get into power?

• In 1479 BCE Hatshepsut became regent, or a temporary ruler, for her stepson Thutmose III.

• later she named herself pharaoh

• We did not know anything about her until 1822 when archeologists were able to decode the hieroglyphic script of her story.

• Hatshepsut led Egypt for 20 years.

• During her reign she promoted trade over war, built many temples, shrines, and monuments.

• Her funeral temple: Dayr al-Bahri
