​The word possessive means ownership therefore possessive adjectives show what persons own/or show ownership.

​The possessive adjectives in Spanish are:

​My - Mi (singular)
My - Mis (plural)

Example: My house - Mi casa
My houses - Mis casas

​Tu - your (singular)
Tus - your (plural)

Example: Your friend - Tu amiga
Your friends - Tus amigas

​Su - His/Her/Your/their (polite&singular)
Sus - His/Hers/Your/their (polite&plural)

Example: Su libro - his/her/your/their book
Sus libros - his/her/your/their books

​Nuestro - our (singular), nuestros - our (plural)
Nuestra - our (singular), nuestras - our (plural)
