How to say you are going to do

something.

Ir – To go
• You remember how to conjugate

the verb ir:

• Yo voy – I go/I am going
• Tú vas – You go/you are going
• Él/ella/usted va – he/it/she/is

going OR you are going

• Nosotros vamos – we go/we are

going

• Ellos/Ellas/ustedes van – they or

all of you go OR are going

ir + a + activity

• If you want to say you are going to do

something, you use the appropriate form of Ir
+ a + the activity
– For example, if you want to say, “I am going to

travel” you would say “yo voy a viajar.”
