​וַיִּקַּ֤ח אַבְרָהָם֙ - and Avraham took
צֹ֣אן וּבָקָ֔ר - sheep and cattle
וַיִּתֵּ֖ן לַֽאֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ - and he gave them to Avimelech
וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם - and they both formed
בְּרִֽית - a covenant

אֶת־שֶׁ֛בַע - seven
כִּבְשׂ֥ת הַצֹּ֖אן - lambs
לְבַדְּהֶֽן - by themselves

​וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ - and Avimelech said
אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֑ם - to Avraham
מָ֣ה הֵ֗נָּה - "what are
שֶׁ֤בַע כְּבָשׂת֙ הָאֵ֔לֶּה - these seven lambs
אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִצַּ֖בְתָּ - that u put
לְבַדָּֽנָה - alone?"

​וַיֹּ֕אמֶר - and he said
כִּ֚י - because
אֶת־שֶׁ֣בַע כְּבָשׂ֔ת - the seven lambs
תִּקַּ֖ח מִיָּדִ֑י - u will take from my hand
בַּֽעֲבוּר֙ - in order that
תִּֽהְיֶה־לִּ֣י לְעֵדָ֔ה - it will be for me a witness
כִּ֥י חָפַ֖רְתִּי - that i dug
אֶת־הַבְּאֵ֥ר הַזֹּֽאת - this well

עַל־כֵּ֗ן - therefore
קָרָ֛א - he called
לַמָּק֥וֹם הַה֖וּא - that place
בְּאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע - "be'er sheva"
כִּ֛י שָׁ֥ם - because there
נִשְׁבְּע֖וּ שְׁנֵיהֶֽם - they both swore

וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ בְרִ֖ית - and they formed a covenant
בִּבְאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע - in be'er sheva
וַיָּ֣קָם אֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ - and avimelech got up
וּפִיכֹל֙ שַׂר־צְבָא֔וֹ - along with pichol his general
וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים - and they returned to the land of the plishtim

וַיִּטַּ֥ע - and he planted
אֵ֖שֶׁל - an eishel (tree)
בִּבְאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע - in be'er sheva
וַיִּ֨קְרָא־שָׁ֔ם - and he called there
'בְּשֵׁ֥ם ה - in the name of hashem
קֵל עוֹלָֽם - g-d of the world

וַיָּ֧גָר אַבְרָהָ֛ם - and avraham dwelt
בְּאֶ֥רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים - in the land of the plishties
יָמִ֥ים רַבִּֽים - for many days
