Computer Aided drawing vocabulary

a way to digitally create 2D drawings and 3D models of real-world products before they're ever manufactured.

CAD

a type of orthographic projection used to determine the true size and shape of inclined and oblique surfaces of objects

Auxiliary View

​a traditional approach to design, where each component of the model is created independently in its own separate file.

bottom-up modeling

the focus is on the assembly, and the individual components are modeled around the entire assembly.

top down modeling

​an angled line that meets the endpoints of two straight 2D objects.
