Computer-Aided Design Vocabulary

Computer-aided design or computer-aided drawing, the use of a computer to create, modify, or analyze a design, typically in an engineering or architecture field.

​You first design and model parts, then insert them into an assembly and use mates to position the parts.

Bottom-Up Modeling

​the focus is on the assembly, and the individual components are modeled around the entire assembly.
