A dog is brought in for emergency surgery. The dog has significant blood loss leading to hypovolaemic shock. The veterinary team involved take it upon themselves to administer blood transfusion without consulting the client. When they call the client later to discuss, the client is deeply disturbed as they are a Jehovah's Witness and do not agree with blood transfusion. The Veterinary Surgeon involved becomes angry and tells the client his beliefs would have lead to the death of their pet.
