​Πώς βρίσκω ποιον υποθετικό πρέπει να συμπληρώσω?

​Αν πρόταση έχει ένα μόνο κενό, κοιτάζω το ρήμα που υπάρχει ήδη συμπληρωμένο. Σε ποιον χρόνο είναι? Από τον χρόνο του ρήματος καταλαβαίνω ποιον υποθετικό έχει, και συμπληρώνω το κενό χρησιμοποιώντας το χρόνο που αντιστοιχεί.Πχ:
He wouldn't succeed if he ___ (work) hard.
Εδώ η απόδοση έχει το wouldn't succeed, που ξέρω ότι είναι από τον 2ο υποθετικό. Έτσι, στο κενό θα συμπληρώσω το ρήμα που μου δίνεται στο χρόνο που έχει ο 2ος υποθετικός στην υπόθεση. Άρα:
He wouldn't succeed if he didn't work hard.

​Αν η πρόταση έχει κενό και στα δύο ρήματα, τότε μπορώ να καταλάβω ποιον υποθετικό χρειάζομαι από δύο βασικά στοιχεία.

Β. Λέξεις-κλειδιά
Αν η πρόταση αναφέρεται στο μέλλον (tomorrow, tonight..) τότε πιθανότατα θα βάλω 1ο υποθετικό. Στα παραδείγματα που ακολοθούν, προσέξτε τις χρωματιμένες λέξεις-κλειδιά
If it rains tomorrow, we won't go to the park.
Αν δω ότι μιλά για κάτι φανταστικό, ή αν δίνει συμβουλές, τότε θα βάλω 2ο υποθετικό.
If I were rich, I would buy a supercar.
Αν δώ χρονικές λέξεις που μιλούν για παρελθόν (yesterday, last year...), τότε μάλλον χρειάζομαι 3ο υποθετικό.
If Stan had invited me to the party last week, I would have gone.
