Akwaba = Bienvenue dans la langue Baoulé (also used in Twi, in Ghana)

Baoulé, also known as Baule or Bawule, is a language spoken in central and southern
Ivory Coast, by approximately 5.3 million people.

Qu’est-ce, Zouglou ?

Zouglou is an Ivorian dance style of music,
initially associated with the student
movement for democratization in Côte d'Ivoire.

It developed in the late 1980's and 1990's.

The message of Zouglou music is typically one of
love, friendship, and brother/sisterhood.
It promotes the ideals of justice and peace.

The rhythm of percussion is the
most distinct musical feature,
together with the style of singing.

Means “shirt” in the Hausa language.

It's a loose-fitting pullover garment,

with an ornate V-shaped collar,

and tailored and embroidered neck

and sleeve lines.

It's the most popular style of
traditional shirts for men.

A flowing robe worn across West Africa by Muslim men

a traditional woven cloth

Men use it by wrapping a large
piece across one shoulder.

Sometimes it's worn around
the body as well.
