You'll solve these problems the same way you solve for standard measurement problems.

Why do people like the metric system? It's easy to convert! Everything is based off of 10's.

You'll move your decimal to the right to make a number larger and to the left to make a number smaller. Answer doesn't make sense? Maybe you moved the decimal the wrong way. Try again!

Set up an H chart or #

Metric Measurements
meters, grams, liters, etc.

Multiply/Divide by Powers of 10

As you go up a place value chart, each place is getting larger by a value of 10 (10 times larger).
As you go down the chart, each place is getting smaller by a value of 10 (10 times smaller).
We can use this knowledge to help multiply and divide by 10, 100, 1000, etc. very easily!
