PAST PERFECT

​We use the past perfect, to talk about things that happened before another event.

S + HAD + VERB IN PAST PARTICIPLE

EX. She had finished her homework before her friends came over to play.

EX2. Before today, I had never seen this movie.

​If we have two events, we only use past perfect in the second situation.

EX.

By the time I got there, the bus had gone already!
