What are reflexive verbs?

  • describe actions done to or for oneself

  • in English, reflexive pronouns end in -self or -selves to show that the subject both causes and receives the action of the verb

  • typically these are verbs involving our daily routines

  • not all reflexive verbs require a reflexive pronoun

    • only use the pronoun if the subject causes and receives the action

      • I take a bath. Me baño.

      • I bathe the dog. Yo baño al perro.

  2. Move "se" before the verb

  3. Change "se" to match the subject

  4. Conjugate the verb to match the subject/reflexive pronoun
