​Marcus Rashford In a poor part of Manchester, lived a boy. He spent all day playing football. His name was Marcus. He didn't have much money but he was loved by his family and neighbours. His mother worked long days to bring food to the table.

​She even missed meals so that her children had food to eat. The family needed free school meals and help from food charities.

​Marcus was 5 and playing as a goalkeeper for a local football club. The boys and girls learnt to be good players on the pitch, and to be nice people.

​Marcus was good in goal and good at scoring goals. The day he helped his team win a big match, 15 scouts were watching. Soon, he joined Manchester United. One of the top teams in the world!

​For 11 years, Marcus worked hard to be a great player. Every time he played, he felt glad for himself, his family, friends and everyone who had shared his dream. Marcus knew this was his big chance and they could trust him. He had to sit on the bench for three long months... but in his first game, he scored two goals! Three months later, he was playing for England, ready to give his best.
