Preposition of time

Lets talk about prepositions of time, in , on and at.

Prepositions

• show the relationship between a noun or a pronoun object and some other words in the sentence.

• are always followed by nouns or pronouns. NOT a verb.

These words tell you about when things are.

• Prepositions which are used to describe the location of a noun or pronoun.

• ​They are used to refer to where something or someone is located.

Preposition "in" is used when a noun or pronoun is in an enclosed space.

​ex. The ball is in a box.

​In is also used for large places with boundaries such as countries, cities or town.

​In is also used with bodies of water such as river, ocean, sea, etc.

• Months: They will join us in May.

• Years: We saw them last in 2011

• Length of time: She will finish it in 3 hours.

• Centuries: That event happened in 20th century.

• Decades: They invented it in 90's.
