PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS

1. Keep Your Eyes on the Time

  • Be aware of how much time you have left to take the test.

2. Read the ENTIRE Question AND ALL of the answers provided.

Many questions are not as hard to answer as they seem. Sometimes a question may seem more complicated by its wording but is really asking you to read a chart. Chart and graph questions are typically on most CLEP tests. These questions should be an easy point.

If you do not know the answer to a question easily the computer based test has an option for you to mark the question and go back to it later if you have time.

PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS

3. Read the wording carefully.

  • Some words can give you hints to the correct answer. Below is an example:

  1. Primary colors are all of the following:

    1. red, yellow, blue, green

    2. red, green, yellow

    3. red, orange, yellow

    4. red, yellow, blue

    5. None of the above

​Although (a) has all the right colors it also contains an incorrect color making the answer wrong.
The correct answer is (e).

Guessing is okay!

Make a guess on a question you do not know the answer to because there is no penalty for an incorrect answer! Eliminate the answers that you know are incorrect. Each correct question is worth one point.
