Star Wars Day
3
Star Wars is an American epic
film series created by George Lucas. It is all about the adventures of various characters
"a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away". Star Wars began in 1977 with the release of the film Star Wars: A New Hope, which became a worldwide phenomenon.
What is Star
Wars?
4
After the film Star Wars: A New Hope was released in 1977, it was followed by The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983); these three films make up the original Star Wars trilogy.
A prequel trilogy was released Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 1999, Attack of the Clones 2002, and Revenge of the Sith 2005.
A sequel trilogy began in 2015 with the
release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and continued in 2017 with the Star Wars: The Last Jedi and in 2019 with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
What are Star Wars Trilogies?
5
Star Wars takes place in a distant fictional galaxy in the ancient past. In this setting, many species of aliens live together. People own robots, who help them in their daily routines, and space travel is common. The spiritual and mystical element of the Star Wars galaxy is called "the Force".
Where is Star
Wars set?
6
The Force is "an energy field created by all living things that surrounds us, penetrates us and binds the galaxy together".
The Force is used by two sides: the Jedi,
who harness the light side of the Force, and the Sith, who use the dark side. These
two sides are at conflict with each other.
