Angles and Triangles Review
These questions are to help you prepare for tomorrows Test!
2
Transversal
a transversal is a line that passes through two lines in the same plane at two distinct points.
3
Parallel lines and Transversals
When a TRANSVERSAL intersects a pair of PARALLEL LINES , 8 angles are formed.
These angles have special relationships that you have to remember
4
Another Type of angle pairs formed is Corresponding Angles
When two parallel lines are crossed by another line (Transversal), the angles in corresponding positions are called corresponding angles.
5
The Angles are either Exterior or Interior
-Interior Angles of a Transversal are created where a transversal crosses two parallel lines. Each of the interior angles are INSIDE the parallel lines.
-Exterior Angles are created where a transversal crosses two parallel lines. Each of these angles are OUTSIDE the parallel lines.

Multiple Choice
A student is trying to construct triangles using four different sets of angles. The angles in each set are given below. Which set will form a triangle?
45°, 65°, 70°
150°, 110°, 100°
50°, 50°, 50°
90°, 90°, 90°
16
Finding x
Remember the sum of the remote interior angles equals the exterior angle.
So........
63 + 86 = x
149 o = x
17
Finding x when it is a interior angle!
The sum of the remote interior angles equals the exterior angle.
x + 40 = 100
-40 from both sides
x = 60o
