My name’s Dan. I live with my mother and my brother Ben in a house near a forest. One autumn morning. Mom tells us to go to the forest and cut down a

tree.

“Why do you want a tree?” we ask.

“Because we need wood for the fire”, she says.

Ben looks up at the blue sky. “But it’s not cold!”

“We don’t need the firewood today”, says Mom.

“When do we need the wood? We ask.”We need it for the winter. It’s very cold in the winter.”

Ben finds the axe and we walk into the forest. There are lots of trees but they are all very big.”Where do we find small trees?” Ben ask.

First, we walk into through the forest and dawn the path. Whe can’t see any small trees. Then we go around a lake and across a river. We climb up the hill.

Finally, we see some small trees next to some rocks.

How about that tree?” Ben ask.

“Perfect!” I answer.

Ben has the axe in his hand. Suddenly, a big pinecone falls from the tree and hits his head ”Ouch!” Ben falls to the ground. I look up and another pinecone

falls. Then another pinecone falls, and another. Soon there are lots of pinecones on the ground.
