In the 1970s, video games became more popular. One of the first big hits was "Pong", a game similar to table tennis. Players used paddles to hit a ball back and forth on the screen. This game was created by Atari, a company that became very famous.

The 1980s were an exciting time for video games. "Pac-Man" and "Super Mario Bros." were huge successes. These games were more complex and had colourful graphics. Video game consoles like the Nintendo Entertainment System became very popular in homes.

The 1990s saw the rise of 3D graphics and more realistic games. "Doom" and "Tomb Raider" were two popular games from this time. The PlayStation, by Sony, and the Sega Saturn were new consoles that offered better graphics and more games.
