In 2015, I stayed in a small village in Peru and took photos of the local food of the people there. I loved my experience so much that I went back again later that year. I saw many fast-food restaurants in the city centre, but in these Quechua villages, people still cooked in the traditional ways. The Quechua people really believe in eating well and I had some delicious meals there. When I was there, I visited a farm. That was where I met this farmer Claudia and she invited me into her home. When we arrived, Claudia started helping her sister Gregoria prepare for their mother's birthday party. Claudia is the woman in the brown hat and blue top. The woman in the brown hat and grey top is Claudia and Gregoria's mother. On the table, you can see the fresh cheese and fish eggs that they prepared. You can also see Claudia's aunt and daughter in the photo. Together, the family made food for the party. I took this photo because it was so lovely to see everyone smiling and having a good time cooking together. During the party, everyone ate and talked and laughed so much. I felt happy to be a part of their family just for that one evening.
