Disagreeing with someone

DIRECT (SECARA LANGSUNG)

When you disagree directly you should be sure of your
facts, because being wrong will require an apology. Jadi
intinya jika kamu menyatakan tidak setuju dengan
pendapat orang, harus sesuai fakta.

Example:

Maya : The show finishes at ten o’clock.

Chika : No, it doesn’t. They told me eleven.

INDIRECT (SECARA TIDAK LANGSUNG)

Indirect Disagreement

If you are questioning someone’s opinion or judgment, it is
better to use indirect techniques, such as:

Turning a statement into a question: “Are you sure . . .?”

Example:

Mary : The show finishes at ten o’clock.

Chuck : Oh, really? That’s strange. They told me it would
be around eleven.
