THE MUMMIES
Long ago, in the land of Egypt, people believed in life after death. They thought that when someone died, their spirit would need a body to return to. To make sure the body was preserved, they created mummies. Ancient Egyptians washed the body first before making the mummy. Mummies were dried for 40 days and then carefully wrapped in bandages with special oils. Sometimes, Egyptians painted a face on the mummies, and they also made mummies of cats. These preserved bodies were kept in pyramids to protect them for the afterlife.

THE MUMMIES
As Ali explored the tomb, he found a mummy that looked different from the others. It had a golden mask and jewels, indicating that this must have been a very important person. Ali realized that mummies were not only made of humans but also of animals like cats, which had their special place in Egyptian culture. He took a picture to show his grandfather and carefully left the tomb, promising to keep the secret safe.
