How does the URL link to an IP Address : DNS
DNS (Domain Name System) is a system used to translate a URL into an IP address. This means you don't have to remember the IP addresses for web servers.

  • Think of it like looking up a friend's phone number in your address book. You might know their name (URL), but you need their phone number (IP address) to call them. DNS helps you find that phone number.

  • Human-readable addresses: URLs are easy for humans to remember and type.

  • Computer-readable addresses: Computers understand IP addresses, which are a series of numbers.

  • DNS as the translator: DNS acts as a translator between these two types of addresses. It converts the human-friendly URL into a computer-readable IP address.
