What do you already know about theatre? Have you ever seen a live theatrical production? (Please do not give me a google definition of theatre, I want to know what you already know)

What is Theatre?

Theatre is a live production of actors telling a story, pretending to be the characters and living out the world of the story with the assistance of technical elements such as costumes, lights, sound, and setting.

In order for it to be theatre there has to be...

• Story

• Actors

• Audience

• Space

What are some common "must-have" elements of a story?

Story

Without a story it is just a presentation or a lecture. There
has to be the proper elements of a story such as:

- Plot
- Characters
- Setting

Open Ended

An actor is a person who assumes the role of a character in order to tell a story: List some of your favorite actors / actresses. (If you can't remember the persons name you can say the character)

Audience

Without a LIVE Audience there would be no one to enjoy
the story.

Also without a proper audience it would most likely just be
a rehearsal.

Space

There must be a dedicated space to perform.Some common theatre spaces in St. Louis are:
- The Fabulous Fox
- The Muny
- The Black Rep
- Opera Theatre of Saint Louis
- STL Shakespeare Festival
