Although I have been training for the Olympics for a
while, it is now time to get serious. I will be expected
to state before Zeus, the ruler of the Greek gods, that
I have been preparing for 10 months. Lying about my
training would be a bad way to start. Zeus does not
like liars.

The Olympic messengers have finally arrived in our
city to announce the games. We live very far away
and have been waiting for a long time. These
messengers will tell us of the Olympic Truce, which is
a plan to stop all fighting. After the announcement,
we can travel to Olympia without fear of getting
captured by one of our city’s enemies.
