Course Description

This course deals with the teacher as a person and as a professional within the context of national and global teachers’ standards and educational philosophies. It will include professional ethics, core values, awareness of professional rights, privileges, and responsibilities as well as the teachers’ roles in the society as a transformative agent of change. Students will learn aspects of teaching secondary P.E. and Health education including characteristics of secondary school students, testing, grading, teaching lifetime activities, and effective teaching techniques. Students will gain teaching experiences through peer teaching as well as observations in schools outside of the university.

Classroom Policies

1. Classroom routine (e.g. attendance and uniform checking, etc.)
2. Wear prescribed attire as required by the course.
3. Teachers and students are expected to be online 10 minutes before the start of the class, to check and fix any technical issues that occur.
4. MS Teams is the official platform of the university. All files, communications and instructional materials must be done in MS teams. For synchronous sessions, MS Teams, zoom or Google Meet can be used.
5. No unnecessary noise and disturbance during synchronous class.
6. Everyone will be muted during class. If anyone would like to ask or raise some concerns, use the chat box or raise hand feature.
7. synchronous sessions will be recorded for possible review.
8. No part of the instructional videos can be shared or posted on social media as this is the intellectual property rights. Since cyber libel is already in place, caution should be observed about materials shared and posted.
9. For every synchronous session, you are REQUIRED to OPEN YOUR CAMERA as instructed by your teacher. Failure to do so means ABSENT.
10. Be professional at all times. Online classes will be monitored by higher administration.
11. For face-to-face classes, students are only allowed of 15 minutes grace period.
12. Seven (7) absences for the entire semester is equivalent to DROPPED UNOFFICIALLY – 5.00
13. If you missed MAJOR EXAMS, make-up or special exams will be given. No special or make-up exams for quizzes or any related activities under CLASS PARTICIPATION once you miss a session. Any result from your examinations will be final. NO REMOVAL EXAMS
