A co-curricular or extracurricular program for middle and high school
students
Designed to explore careers in education
Modern version of the former Future Teachers of America (FTA) clubs
Customized for Georgia's educational landscape
Sponsored by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE)

WHY FGE MATTERS

Addresses the teacher shortage in Georgia and nationwide
Large percentage of Georgia's teaching workforce nearing retirement
Fewer people entering the teaching profession
Increases in student enrollment create higher demand for teachers
High attrition rates among novice teachers
FGE encourages and prepares young people for teaching careers

FGE'S APPROACH
