Looking Forward to This Year!!

Whatever you heard about me from your kids so far is a LIE!!
Just Kidding :)
I have enjoyed my first month with your kids and BCA in general. I really appreciate you all making me feel welcomed to BCA!

There is no particular "curriculum" for this course as this class is a supplement to your regular math class. Everything given in this class is based off the Florida B.E.S.T. standards.

Intensive Math

This year we will be using Envision for paper textbook and Savvas for our online curriculum. We will be using both everyday this year.

Everything your child does in this class is graded. Whether it is for completion or accuracy, I will not waste anyone time with busy work. Your child will probably have more grades in this class than any of there other classes. I update grades very often, I spend my life grading student work. It helps me know if the students are actually understanding the lessons. I update grades twice a week unless there is a major class/school event that week (ex. testing, project, holiday). All grades are up to date by 5pm Friday each week.

GRADES!!!

LATE/ MISSING WORK

All completed work that is up to a week late, will receive a score no higher than an 80. Any completed work after that will receive a score no higher than a 50. I will accept all completed work until the last day of each quarter no matter how late it is. Students should get used to adhering to deadlines as it is a big part of their future. The due date in Powerschool determines the due date. Once a zero has been inputted into the gradebook, then that particular assignment is late. If a grade is blank in Powerschool, it has not been assigned yet or has not been graded yet, so there is no cause for concern at this time.
