Have you described your setting in detail?

• Used all 5 senses to describe your setting

• Used personification at least once, especially to describe nature

• Used metaphors and similes (one each at least) to describe other important objects

• Described your characters feelings at least two or three times (using metaphor if possible)

• Use speech in your story, ensuring it's correctly punctuated

• Use ambitious verbs and adverbs to describe your characters actions

Structure

• Is there a clear build up (describing setting and character)

• Do you have an emotional climax - exciting moment which is described in detail (building setting alight, hurricane ripping the roof of a house or knocking down a tree etc)

• Is your storyline consistent? (Does it follow what you've already written and make sense)

• Have you read through your sentences and added commas if needed and ensured full stops are in correct places

• Have you used parentheses correctly to add extra details

• Have you used speech and punctuated it correctly?
