Dear Diary,

Yesterday was quite a day! I was going to visit my friend Lucy, who had just moved into a new apartment. We had planned to spend the whole day together, decorating her new place and catching up. We would have a nice lunch and then head out for some shopping. I had even written down a list of things we were going to buy.

But things didn’t go as planned. Just as I was about to leave, my phone rang. It was my cousin, and she was calling to tell me that she was coming to town for a surprise visit. I was going to tell Lucy about the change of plans when I remembered I had promised my cousin that I would spend the afternoon with her.

I felt bad about not being able to help Lucy, but I assured her we would meet another day. I would make sure to bring her some nice things from the shops I had planned to visit. Lucy said she understood and would wait for me to come over the next weekend.

So, in the end, my plans changed, but I know I’ll get to spend quality time with Lucy soon. As for my cousin, we had a wonderful day catching up and reminiscing about our childhood adventures. Sometimes life doesn’t go exactly as we plan, but it still turns out to be special in its own way.

Until next time, Anna
