Managing stress is important.

15

IS is a singular verb.

Feeling stressed out happens to everyone.

Happens is a
singular verb.

16

media

Not every verb takes an object. Some verbs cannot take an object, such as laugh or sit.

These verbs are called intransitive verbs. You can say, “I laughed at his joke,” but

not “I laughed his joke.” Intransitive verbs need a prepositionbefore an object.

A dictionary will tell you if a verb is intransitive.

What other prepositions do you know besides about? (e.g., in, on, at, etc.)
