Recount Text
is a text that explains a story, action and activity with the aim of entertaining at the same time provide information to readers.

KINDS OF RECOUNT TEXT
Personal recount
text yang berfungsi menceritakan tentang pengalaman pribadi penulis.
Imaginative Recount
text yang berfungsi menyajikan sebuah cerita imaginatif. Lalu menuliskan peristiwa atau kejadian yang telah terjadi.
Factual recountText yang berfungsi untuk menyajikan laporan peristiwa yang benar-benar terjadi, seperti laporan science ataupun laporan kepolisian.
Historical recount
text yang membahas tentang sejarah baik itu tempat, kejadian dan benda bersejarah

Provides background information needed to understand a text, such as who is involved, where it stage happened and when it happened

Is a recording of an ongoing event or series of events which are then arranged in chronological order.
example: "In the first day... And in the next day... . And in the last day...”

Re-orientation
This final stage is a repetition of the introduction in the first stage. This repetition will summarize all the events told.

Characteristics
• Use past tense sentences.
Menggunakan kalimat Past Tense (lampau). Pola kalimatnya terbagi menjadi dua, yaitu ada verbal sentence dengan rumus subject + verb 2 + complement dan nominal sentence yang rumusnya subject + be + complement.
Example:
I spent my summer in Jakarta and I was very happy. Past or already occurring events).

Characteristics
Use action verbs
Action verb adalah kata kerja yang merujuk pada tindakan yang kamu lakukan dan bisa terlihat oleh orang lain. Verb ini dikenal juga dengan dynamic verb.
Example:
I participated in the sack race.
I took part in the competition in my neighborhood

Characteristics
Use conjunctions and time connectives to explain sequence of events/time.
Conjunction berfungsi untuk menghubungkan dua kata, frasa, atau kalimat.
Contoh : and, or, until, although, while, but, and many more.
Time connectives berfungsi sebagai kata sambung yang digunakan untuk menyatakan urutan terjadinya peristiwa.
Contoh : then, next, in the end, in addition, etc.

Characteristics
Use the adverb as well adverbial phrase to explain time, place and method.
Adverb adalah kata keterangan. Ia memberikan lebih banyak informasi atau mendeskripsikan lebih detail dari kata kerja, kata sifat, dan kata lainnya.
Contoh : extremely, carefully, slowly, etc.
Adverbial phrase adalah frasa yang fungsinya menjelaskan. Adverbial phrase yang digunakan dalam teks recount adalah adverbial phrase of time dan adverbial phrase of place.
Contoh :
Adverbial phrase of time : My team won the volleyball tournament last week.
Adverbial phrase of place : Camelia found her book in the classroom.

My Holiday at the Beach
Last weekend, I went to the beach with my family. We drove there early in the morning and arrived just as the sun was rising. The view was stunning!
We spent the day swimming in the ocean, building sandcastles, and relaxing on the beach. For lunch, we had a picnic with sandwiches and fresh fruit. In the afternoon, I tried paddleboarding for the first time. It was fun, but I kept falling into the water!
As the day ended, we watched the sunset together. It was a beautiful and peaceful moment. After that, we packed up and drove home. It was a simple but memorable holiday.
