1. routines and habits
(we get up late at the weekend)
2. things that are true in general
(She hates news programs on TV)

Present Simple

Time Expressions:

​adverb of frequency:

every day/week/year, on Fridays, at the weekend, in the morning, at night, after school.

Present Simple

Use:

​We use the Present Continuous to talk about:
1. things that are happens at the moment of speaking
(She's studying in France at the moment)

Present Continuous

Time Expressions:

now, right now, just now, at the moment, today, these days

Use:

we use like, love, enjoy, don't mind, can't stand, hate and prefer + verb + ing to talk about things we like or don't like doing.

Verb + ing

Spelling Rules:

1. most verbs: add -ing

   play - playing

2. Verbs that end with -e; drop the -e and add ing

   come - coming

3. verbs that end in one vowel + one consonant: double the consonant and add -ing

   sit - sitting
