**Lesson Note: Capital Letters and Full Stops**
Learning Objectives:
1. Tier 1 (Advanced Students):
- Understand and apply the rules of capital letters and full stops correctly in independent
writing.
2. Tier 2 (Average EFL Arabic Students):
- Recognize and use capital letters and full stops with some support in short sentences.
3. **Tier 3 (Non-Readers with Arabic Support)**:
- Identify basic use of capital letters (for names and at the beginning of sentences) and
full stops with significant support, including Arabic translation.
Success Criteria:
1. **Tier 1 (Advanced Students)**:
- You can use capital letters correctly at the beginning of sentences and for proper nouns.
- You can place full stops correctly at the end of sentences.
2. **Tier 2 (Average EFL Arabic Students)**:
- You can recognize where to use capital letters and full stops with some help.
- You can complete sentences with the correct punctuation.
3. **Tier 3 (Non-Readers with Arabic Support)**:
- You can identify capital letters at the beginning of sentences and for names, with
translation support.
- You can use full stops at the end of simple sentences, with Arabic translation provided.

**Tier 1 (Advanced Students)**
**Lesson Note**:
- **Capital Letters** are used at the beginning of sentences, for proper nouns (names of
people, places, days, and months), and for the word "I."
- Example: "Ali lives in Dubai."
- **Full Stops** are used at the end of a sentence to show that the sentence is complete.
- Example: "She is a student."
**Activity**:
Write a short paragraph (3-4 sentences) about your favorite hobby. Use capital letters at the
beginning of each sentence and for any proper nouns. End each sentence with a full stop.
- Example:
"I like to play football. My friend Ahmed plays with me. We play every Friday."
**Tier 2 (Average EFL Arabic Students)**
**Lesson Note**:
- **Capital Letters** are used at the start of a sentence and for names of people,
places, and days.
- Example: "Ahmed is my friend."
- **Full Stops** are placed at the end of a sentence.
- Example: "I play football."
**Activity**:
Complete the sentences below by adding capital letters and full stops:

**Note** (with Arabic translation):
- **Capital Letters** are used at the start of sentences and for important names
(people and places).
- **نكاملأاو صاخشلأا ءامسأ يف اًضيأ ةريبكلا فرحلأا مدختست .ريبك فرحب اًمئاد ةلمجلا أدبت.**
- Example/لاثم: "mohammed is from dubai" → "Mohammed is from Dubai."
- **Full Stops** (.) are used to end a sentence.
- **تهتنا دق ةركفلا نأ نّيبتل ةلمجلا ةياهن يف عضوت ةطقنلا.**
