Shalat sunnah ( shalat nafilah ) adalah shalat tambahan di luar shalat fardhu, bila dikerjakan akan mendapat pahala tetapi bila ditinggalkan tidak berdosa.

Shalat Istisqa
Berikut ini ringkasan tata cara shalat istisqa:
1. Shalat dua rakaat.
2. Rakaat pertama takbir tujuh kali sebelum membaca surat Al-Fatihah.
3. Rakaat kedua takbir lima kali sebelum membaca surat Al-Fatihah.
4. Khutbah dua atau sekali sebelum (atau setelah) shalat.
5. Khutbah setelah shalat lebih utama.
6. Sebelum masuk khutbah pertama khatib membaca istighfar sembilan kali.
7. Sebelum masuk khutbah kedua khatib membaca istighfar tujuh kali. 8. Perbanyak doa dalam khutbah kedua.
