Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and certain organisms convert light energy into chemical energy, producing oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds. (carbohydates)

  6CO_2​+6H₂​O→C₆​H₁₂​O_6​+6O_2​

  Carbon dioxide (CO₂) + Water (H₂O) + Light → Glucose (C₆H₁₂O₆) + Oxygen (O₂)

  Light energy is essential for this reaction to occur.
