A pickup truck can carry a load of 1/2 of a ton. How many pounds can the pickup truck carry?

Solution: If one ton is 2,000 pounds, then 1/2 ton is 1,000 pounds. The truck can carry 1,000 pounds!

A yard is equal to how many inches?

Solution:
One yard is equal to 3 feet. One foot equals 12 inches. Thus 1 yard is equal to 36 inches.
1 yard = 3 x 12 inches = 36 inches

Steve drinks at least 8 cups of water every day. How many quarts of water does he drink a day?

Solution:
Two cups is a pint, so 8 cups is 4 pints. Two pints is a quart, so 4 pints is 2 quarts. Steve drinks 2 quarts of water a day.
