Learning Coach Role and Responsibilities

A designated learning coach is someone identified by the caretaker as an adult who
has oversight of the learner’s daily schoolwork and activities.

Supports teacher instruction, oversees the learner's independent practice,
and communicates with CCA teachers.

Make sure the learner is logging in each day, completing ALL assignments BEFORE they
submit their work, excusing absences in their Edio account. This will avoid any
unexcused absences.

Full and final responsibility for: the learner’s education, notifying the school
of technology issues, if the learner is experiencing difficulty in a subject,
or online environment.

Keep the Momentum Going!

You can reward their hard work and focus as you would reward other milestones they’ve accomplished.

Congratulate your student on their progress and acknowledge that you’re proud of their hard work.

Ask them to tell you something interesting they’ve learned from an i-Ready lesson.

Set up a system at home to recognize lessons passed. For example, every time they pass a lesson at home, you ask them to show you their data tracker/lesson
log, and then they are allowed to put a marble in a jar.

Ask them to log in to i-Ready at home and explain their progress to you.

I’m excited to see what else we’ll accomplish!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

17

Poll
