Multiple Choice
The model represents a water molecule. The water molecule has one oxygen (O) and two hydrogen (H)atoms.
Which statement is true about the water molecule?
It is an elemental molecule that does not share electrons between its atoms.
It is a compound molecule that does not share electrons between its atoms.
It is an elemental molecule that shares electrons between its atoms.
It is a compound molecule that shares electrons between its atoms.

Multiple Choice
The elements are being considered as a coating to reduce the shininess of metals. Which element will reduce the shininess the most?
argon (Ar)
magnesium (Mg)
silicon (Si)
sodium (Na)

Recap of Coefficients, Subscripts, & Parenthesis
Subscript, is a number that comes after an element. It tells you how many atoms of that element there are.
Ex. N2 = 2 atoms of Nitrogen
F2 = 2 atoms of Flourine
C6 = 6 atoms of Carbon

Recap of Coefficients, Subscripts, & Parenthesis
Coefficients, tell you how many molecules (groups) there are of an elemental molecule or compound molecule. You distribute the coefficient to each of the elements and their subscripts (if available).
Ex:
3H2O --> means there are 3 molecules/groups of H2O
3xH2= 6 Hydrogen (H)
3xO= 3 Oxygen (O)

Recap of Coefficients, Subscripts, & Parenthesis
Parenthesis works just like PEMDAS, parenthesis always comes first, so you must work the parenthesis part first, and then you can work the remainder of the problem.
Ex:
2H2(O2)2 = Parenthesis first, so Oxygen (O) has 4 atoms.
Then work the coefficient and multiply everything by 2, so Hydrogen (H) = 4 and then multiply O4 x 2 = total of 8 Oxygen (O) atoms.

Kinetic Sand
Sand: SiO2
Corn starch: C6H10O5
Vegetable oil:CnH2
Made from 3 things: Play sand, corn starch, and oil.
16
Directions:
Mix two cups of corn flour with three cups of sand together in a bowl.
Pour half a cup of vegetable oil into the sand and flour mixture. You can also add some drops of food colouring at this point if you want to make coloured sand. Mix together with a spoon and then with your hands to squish it all firmly together.
Your sand is now ready to play with!
